Bleau Blocs describes 100 of the finest boulder problems in the Fontainebleau forest.  Written and photographed by Stephan Denys this book is a visual celebration of this unique and vast bouldering venue.

Stephan Denys has spent nearly forty years as a photographer and climber roaming every inch of this rocky Fontainebleau landscape.  During this time he has developed a special bond with these sandstone giants and their unique shapes: sometimes sharp and angular, sometimes round and bumpy, but always fascinating.

The 100 striking problems span a range of eras and are all beautifully photographed.  All the problems are described across 2 pages that expand on their context and characteristics.  The book is split into 4 main sections, which are National Forest, the Trois Pignons, Larchant and Nemours, followed by Buthiers and Essonne.

Published in 2021, Bleau Blocs is in English text throughout, and it is an inspiring book for all climbers, whatever their level!  This coffee table style book enables the author to share his vision of bouldering in Fontainebleau and invites us to consider the boulders more deeply from all their angles.
