Description

This is the definitive guidebook describing the sport climbing to be found in Cuenca, which is located around 170km east of Madrid. The climbing style is technical, powerful pocket climbing on sharp steep limestone rock in the medium to high grade range. The different sectors face all possible orientations with easy approaches and comfortable bases. At an altitude of 1,000m the best time to visit Cuenca to climb is in the spring and autumn.

All the routes are shown on colour photo topos, with detailed maps and access information. For each area there is access and approach information along with QR codes for the parking areas. Symbols indicate the style of climbing, the orientation to the sun, approach time, and height of the crag. In total the guidebook describes 1,425 routes in 27 main sectors.

Published in August 2019 by Desnivel this Cuenca guidebook is in English and Spanish text throughout. It is the 3rd edition of this guidebook that includes around 300 more routes than the previous edition, along with many excellent action photographs.
