Description

This guidebook describes 17 separate climbing areas, around the cities of Presov and Kosice regions of Eastern Slovenia. The guidebook details over 1,200 routes across a wide range of grades with the majority of the climbing on limestone as well as conglomerate rock. Some of the largest crags covered are Dreveník, Turniská, Tomášovský výhľad and Zádielska dolina that has multi pitch routes up to 100m high. Also included is the Hungarian crag of Hejce that is close to the Slovakian border.

All the routes are shown on colour photo topos along with UIAA grades. For each crag there is a brief description of the climbing to be found along with a table of the number of routes at each grade. Plus there are access instructions, an access map, and a map of the various sectors, plus GPS coordinates for the parking areas.

Published in November 2018 this guidebook is in Slovakian and English text throughout. It’s aimed at directing the visiting climber to showcase the best climbing Slovakia has to offer. The guidebook also contains a host of non-climbing information covering such essentials as car rental, accommodation options and what to do on off-days or non-climbing days.
