This guidebook describes 25 classic routes across the Ecrins Massif, covering lower grade snow, rock and mixed climbing routes. The routes described in this guidebook should be within the capabilities of almost all fit mountaineers.

These 25 classic routes are graded between F and AD, and include the following highlights: the Aiguille du Goleon; the north ridge of the Aiguille Dibona; the south ridge of Pic Coolidge; the north-east face of the Meije Orientale; and the traverse of the Barre des Ecrins ridge.

Most routes are described across 4 pages and include, a comprehensive route description, type of gear required, approach information, descent information, and a sketch map. A route summary details the start point, difficulty, timings, height gain, and the best time of year to climb the route.
